BioFall Pond Filter
A Bio-Fall filter has one single function... to purify fish waste which are part of the natural respiratory and feeding function of pond fish. Pond Filtration is one of the most important elements of your Northern New Jersey pond system.  The filter not only removes debris but, more importantly, your filter converts toxic substances into harmless ones.

A good system is of key importance in keeping your pond water crystal-clear and free of chemical pollutants.

Biological filtration is where your system provides a place for beneficial bacteria to grow on special media.  The system focuses the growth of beneficial bacteria.  These bacteria  remove harmful pollutants, through a  natural process, from pond water.  Known as the " Bio Filtration " or " bio reactors " these beneficial bacteria convert poisonous compounds such as ammonia and nitrite, into less toxic nitrate.  The end by-product, nitrate, is used as a food source by aquatic plants.  This continuous process is called the nitrogen cycle.  This type may be the most important filtration process in a pond system containing koi or goldfish. If you live in the Long Valley, Morris County New Jersey area and own a pond without a Biofalls Waterfall Filter contact us today. Your Fish are depending on us to save them!!

The BioFalls® biological waterfall & pond filtration unit is the starting point of your Morris County ecosystem fish pond waterfall. The filter mats and media provide a breeding ground for  beneficial bacteria to thrive  and help clean the pond. It is designed for general maintenance/once-a-year cleaning when used in combination with a Signature SeriesTM Skimmer or Pondless® Waterfall Vault prefilter, ensuring that large debris is filtered from the water before it reaches the Signature SeriesTM BioFalls® filter.

Most ecosystem fish ponds don't require the filter mats or filter media bag in the BioFalls® Filter to be cleaned more than twice a year. Cleaning them, especially with chlorinated tap water, more often will reduce or kill these beneficial bacteria growing on these filters. Replace old filter mats after two years or if they begin to tear or fall apart. The filter mats can be removed for annual cleaning through the wider opening at the front of the rack.
